Application Fields
Semiconductor & Electronics Manufacturing
Core Applications: Wafer processing equipment (lithography, etching, deposition), die bonders, wire bonders, LCD/OLED panel handling and inspection machines, and precision testing equipment.
26-bit encoder resolution enables nanoscale positioning; 3.2kHz speed response and ≤0.5% torque ripple ensure ultra-stable motion; EtherCAT/MECHATROLINK-4 with 31.25μs cycle supports coordinated multi-axis control, meeting the strict requirements of semiconductor front-end and back-end processes for yield and throughput.
Electronic Component Mounting & PCB Assembly
Core Applications: High-speed surface mount technology (SMT) placement machines, automated insertion machines, and precision dispensing/coating equipment.
Fast settling time (0.5ms) and ±1 pulse positioning accuracy reduce component placement errors; dual/triple-axis drives (SGDXW/SGDXT) save cabinet space and lower wiring costs; built-in vibration suppression minimizes PCB warpage risks during high-speed motion.
Machine Tools & Metalworking
Core Applications: Precision turning centers, milling machines, grinders, laser cutting/engraving machines, and CNC bending machines.
300% overload capacity handles heavy cutting loads; resonance suppression algorithms eliminate mechanical vibrations from tool changes; real-time data feedback (temperature, load, vibration) supports predictive maintenance, extending spindle and tool life.
Industrial Robotics
Core Applications: 6-axis articulated robots, SCARA robots, delta robots, gantry robots, and collaborative robots (cobots) for material handling, assembly, welding, and painting.
Multi-axis synchronization with sub-millisecond latency; HWBB safety functions (e.g., STO, SS1) meet ISO 13849-1 PLd standards; compact single/dual-axis drives fit robot arm cavities, enhancing payload-to-weight ratios.
Common On-Site Issues & Solutions
Installation & Wiring Issues
Q1: Overseas factory power grids come in different specifications like 200V and 400V. How to match the Σ-X series to these voltages? What happens if we choose the wrong one?
A1: The overseas version of Σ-X has two mainstream voltage models: 200V and 400V. Always verify the local line voltage before selecting a model. For example, North America and Japan mostly use 3-phase 200V, while Europe and China use 3-phase 400V. Connecting a 200V model to a 400V grid will instantly burn out the power module. Conversely, a 400V model on a 200V grid will trigger an undervoltage fault (A.09) and deliver drastically reduced torque output. The fix: Lock in the correct voltage rating during model selection. If the on-site voltage doesn't match, install a transformer with a capacity no less than 1.5 times the drive's rated power.
Q2: After wiring the encoder, we keep getting error code A.510 (encoder communication failure). We've checked the wiring sequence repeatedly--how to troubleshoot this quickly on overseas sites?
A2: This issue is mostly caused by poor shielding/grounding or cable interference. First, use only original shielded twisted-pair encoder cables, with the shield grounded at the drive end only (connect to the drive's grounding terminal). Never route encoder cables in the same conduit as power cables--maintain a minimum distance of 20cm. Second, check if the encoder connector is fully seated and if any pins are bent (a common issue during overseas shipping). Third, in high-interference environments (e.g., near laser cutters), add ferrite cores to the encoder cable or install a signal filter. Additionally, note that some overseas models use 26-bit encoders--make sure the parameter setting matches (don't set it to 17-bit by mistake).
